Investing in Our Community: Understanding Our Tiered Tuition Structure
At Kora Kora Corp., our mission is to ensure that high-quality youth development, mentorship, and enrichment are accessible to every family, regardless of household income. Northern New Jersey is a vibrant and diverse region, but we also recognize the very real economic pressures and high cost of living our families navigate every single day.
To bridge this gap and keep our programs within reach, we utilize a tiered tuition structure rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Here is why we structured our program this way and how it works:
1. Equity and Accessibility
We believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of a child's growth. Our subsidized tiers are specifically designed to support working-class households, single-parent families, and those experiencing financial transition, ensuring that every child has a seat at the table.
2. Reflecting Our Regional Reality
Because living expenses, housing costs, and economic conditions vary significantly across Northern New Jersey, a rigid, flat fee simply does not work for everyone. Our tiers create a balanced sliding framework that scales appropriately with household financial realities.
Tier 1 (Standard Tuition): Reflects the true market-rate cost of our comprehensive programming for families who are in a position to pay full tuition, directly helping to sustain our operations.
Tiers 2 & 3 (Subsidized Tuition): Provide meaningful, tiered reductions for qualifying households, turning what might otherwise be an impossible expense into an accessible investment in their child's future.
3. How Placement Works
To ensure that our subsidized spots are handled fairly and responsibly—and to protect the long-term sustainability of our nonprofit—placement is determined through individual income review.
Every family is asked to provide brief proof of income (such as tax documentation).
You will connect directly with a Kora Kora team member for a brief conversation prior to accessing the payment page.
This personal touch allows us to understand your family's unique situation, assign the appropriate tier with care, and maintain an open line of communication from day one.
We are deeply committed to partnering with you to help your children thrive. If you have any questions about the verification process or need assistance finding the right fit for your family, please reach out to our team—we are always here to help.
